ユニセフとヘイミッシュ・クーパー駐日ニュージーランド大使の共催により、Shape the Future Project for DC10 Fundの活動を紹介するイベントが駐日ニュージーランド大使館にて開催されました。

当日は、スペシャルゲストであるダンを迎え、プロジェクトのチェアを務める神原健悟、リーダーの柳井英実がプロジェクトの背景や今後の展望についてお話ししました。日本、ニュージーランド、そして太平洋島しょ国のさまざまな分野で活躍されている皆さまにご参加いただき、太平洋の子どもたちを取り巻く現状や、私たちの取り組みに高い関心をお寄せいただきました。

UNICEF and the New Zealand Ambassador to Japan, H.E. Hamish Cooper, co-hosted a special event at the Embassy of New Zealand in Tokyo to showcase the Shape the Future Project for the DC10 Fund.

The event welcomed special guest Dan, and featured Kenta Kanbara, Chair of the project, and Amy Yanai, Project Leader, who shared insights into the project’s background and future direction. Leaders and professionals from Japan, New Zealand, and across the Pacific Islands joined the event, showing strong interest in the situation of children in the Pacific and in the work being done to support them.

プロジェクトのチェアを務める神原伸太郎および健悟は、来日したユニセフ太平洋島しょ国事務所 副代表ロシュニ・バスより、ユニセフの水と衛生分野に関する支援活動について報告を受けました。気候変動の影響や自然災害に襲われる太平洋の国々における支援の成果と課題や、子どもたちの様子を学びました。

Shintaro and Kenta Kambara, who serve as Chair of the project, received a briefing on UNICEF’s WASH activities from Ms. Roshni Basu, Deputy Representative of the UNICEF Pacific Island Countries, during her visit to Japan. She shared insights into the successes and challenges of supporting island nations affected by climate change and natural disasters, as well as the conditions faced by children in these regions.

プロジェクトのチェアを務める神原伸太郎および健悟は、東京にて岸田文雄前内閣総理大臣と面会し、当プロジェクトに対してあたたかい励ましのお言葉を頂戴しました。プロジェクトが折り返しの節目を迎えるこの時期に、太平洋島しょ国の子どもたちへの支援に一層尽力する決意を新たにする機会となりました。

Shintaro and Kenta Kambara, who serve as Chair of the project, met with former Prime Minister Fumio Kishida in Tokyo and received warm words of encouragement for the initiative. As the project reaches its halfway milestone, the meeting served as an opportunity to renew our commitment to further supporting children in the Pacific Island countries.

パートナーのご協力のもと、東京にてダンをスペシャルゲストに招き、チャリティディナーを開催しました。ダンとともにラグビー・ニュージーランド代表オールブラックスで活躍したリッチー・マコウ選手も参加してくださいました。プロジェクトの成功をめざし、ダンとプロジェクトメンバー、そしてご参加の皆様と思いを共有することができました。

With the cooperation of our partners, we hosted a charity dinner in Tokyo with Dan as a special guest. Richie McCaw, who played with Dan in the All Blacks rugby, also joined us. We were able to share our purpose and goal with Dan, the project members, and everyone who attended to make this project a success.
